We spent yesterday afternoon at Marsha and Larry's house. Every year they pick a country and that's the theme for the New Year's meal. This year it was Germany. For good luck in the new year in Germany you are apparently supposed to eat a jelly doughnut. Marsha made some from scratch.

Good eats. Danke. They were huge to begin with then they went into the fryer.

Jon was the fry daddy.

They turned out great and tasted so good. Marsha melted some chocolate and filled the plain ones with homemade whipped cream. Yum.

She also made the traditional black eyed peas and collards so we'll all be rich this year. After all that we should have our bases covered!
