Oh nuts, it seems the public has a bone to pick with IKEA

My beloved IKEA is in the news lately because of this layout in the new 2007 catalog. click to enlarge: It seems that some people think an IKEA staffer photoshopped a human peenie on the picture of the dog. IKEA claims it is the dog's leg. I've had dogs all my life and, um, I haven't come across a leg like that on a canine. Who knows what the real deal is here. Maybe Sven the wonder dog just flashed the camera his puppy package!

Hump day hodge podge

The fabulous Lisanne surprised me by sending me a box full of 3 liters of Polar Sodas. There was Vanilla Seltzer, Double Fudge, and my favorite, Pomegranate Dry. So yummy! I always love trying products that aren't available in my area. Merci Lisanne!

Tonight I'm heading out to a free screening of Trust The Man.

Oh, and that gift card (see below) is still up for grabs. Any takers?

The BPOH has brought quite a few new readers over here. Welcome y'all! So I thought I'd see if there are any questions I can answer for you. Anything you've been curious about? I'm an open book, so ask away!

Oops, late for the parade!

Almost let Tuesday go by without announcing this week's theme for the Bloggy Parade of Homes! Bathrooms You can post about all of your bathrooms, or just your favorite, or the one you really can't stand, whatever your little heart desires. Now, go snap your pictures!

Have I gotta deal for you!

I have this $75 gift card for Levy Restaurants. Problem is, the only restaurant they had in the Charlotte area got bought out. So now this card doesn't do me much good until the next time I go to Florida. Who knows when that is. So I thought I'd let you guys in on a deal. Click on the link above and see if you can use the card in your area. If you'd like it I'll give you the gift card for $60. That's a $15 savings! I'd rather one of my bloggy buddies have this instead of going on eBay. Leave me a comment or send me an email if you're interested!

I'm here for you

This just in: Mary Janes are available on the Crocs.com site (finally) in lots of colors! On Crocs.com they are only $29.99 vs the $34.99 they were running over at Journeys. Crocs.com is also carrying the Prima ballerina flats too. I've got my whole family turned on to Crocs finally. Hot as Hale (my Papa) is sporting the Islander. When they came in the mail he danced all around in them he loves them so much. My Mama's been a fan for a while, and now my MIL is too. She's got the Prima and the Mary Janes and has me on the lookout for a pair of Reliefs (they are sold out in her size & preferred color). Susan is rocking a pair of Mary Janes and finally Lisa quit being a holdout and ordered herself and Pete each a pair of the Athens flip flops. I'm so excited that my peeps are gettin comfy in their Crocs!
Oh, and for you Disney fans, Crocs is coming out with a Disney line!

Hope

Hearty CONGRATULATIONS!!! go out to Mary Mia & Rod on their referral of twins! Beautiful, gorgeous, smoochable twin girls. Pop over and say hi! M3 & Rod getting twins totally gives us hope that yep, they really do have twins in China and we might even be lucky enough one day to bring our girls home at the same time like we've dreamed for months and months now.

Trashy

We have a perfectly nice, functional trash can. Exhibit A:

So then why did I find this scene when I walked into the kitchen the other night?

I will never understand men.

Mole Hole

Thursday I went and had a mole removed from my cheek. The whole experience was quick and rather anti-climactic. My mom went with to take pictures. She usually shaves off her own moles and was interested to see how the pros do it. So here's what happened:
The before shot: Can you see it there on my cheek? The color used to be darker and it has grown a white ring around it. Odd.
The nurse numbed me with a shot. She lied and told me there would be a little pinch and a bit of stinging. The little pinch was right, the bit of stinging felt like I was under attack from an army of wasps! The shot made my mole raise up so they could really get to it.
Then the Dr. just shaved it off with a razor blade.
Took no time at all and I didn't feel a thing.
That was it.
Now I have to wear a band aid on my face for a week. Sexy.

In other doctor news, I had my follow up appt with my sleep dr. yesterday. He said I had/have "horrendous" sleep apnea. They assign a number to it to show how severe it is. 0-25 is moderate, 26-50 is severe, 50-75 is very severe and so on. My number? 125! Holy canoli! No wonder I was tired all the time! He showed me a chart from my sleep study (that he wouldn't let me photograph. Hmph!) and said the blue line indicated when my brain was agitated and I was waking up while sleeping, and the green space was normal sleep activity. When I was "sleeping" it was a solid blue space. Pitiful. Then when they put me on the mask that night my number dropped to 5! And my chart showed lots of green! He said it was probably the first decent few hours of sleep I've had in many years. I tell ya, I do feel so much better. No more morning headaches from not sleeping. No more of that hangover feeling. My blood pressure has even come down. And I'm so used to my machine now I can't even tell the power is on sometimes. God bless the creator of the CPAP machine!

Now, on to my house. (click to enlarge pictures)
First I'm going to show you the Before pictures. These are pictures I took the first time we toured the house when it was for sale. So all the furniture and "art" belonged to the previous owner. Note the abundance of stencils- even between the windows! Like there wasn't enough going on already!
Afters:
Since we were in the dining room last week I'm going to start our tour with the view from the entrance to the dining room. Then moving toward the family room you get this view:
The breakfast nook: View of the kitchen from over by the family room:
The wall color is Butter Creme by Restoration Hardware via Lowe's. We replaced all the cabinet knobs with some from IKEA to get rid of the brass. We replaced all the lighting as well. The light in the breakfast nook came from Lowes and the other two came from IKEA. I'm not crazy about the counter tops. I wouldn't have picked blue. I love blue, but just not for kitchen counter tops. One day we'll change them out. I've decorated around them using lots of yellow and lime green and I think it works pretty well. My favorite things about the kitchen are the size, layout, island, big windows, view out of windows, the bistro table set, how it's open to the family room, and the chalkboard wall.
Now, if I could just hire a personal chef and someone to wash dishes for me it would be perfect!

Crocs or Crack? You tell me.

The following was an email, nay, a desperate cry for help that I sent yesterday to my nearest and dearest. Those who would understand and love me anyway. They have to- it's in their contracts. The response this email received made me realize I should probably broaden my plea to include all of the internets. Note the lack of capitalization, correct spelling, grammatical errors that abound in this letter. Obviously signs that I'm now a certified junkie. But how could I help myself? The lethal combination of shoes, accessories, and shopping did me in. There's help out there for me somewhere. I know it.

so ani sent me those fabulous jibbitz and now i've got a $79 shopping
cart at jibbitz.com cause they are so freakin cute and i want so many
of them i can't stand it. csp would kill me, i mean kill me with an
instrument of death, if i spent $79 on tiny rubbery shoe
decorations. plus i'm thinking of my frens who have crocs or are
buying them and oh wouldn't my mil just love the smiley face jibbitz
and i could get ladybugs for my adoptive mom pals and i so need candy
corns, maple leaves, spiders with webs, santa's head, the turkey, the
usa flag with red white and blue stars, basically the entire seasonal
category. the turkey, people! i want to mash a rubber turkey icon
into my brown mary jane crocs. i'm mentally planning my thanksgiving
outfit so i can wear a cartoon turkey on my foot! there is something
seriously wrong with me. just so you know my cart also includes the
ying yang, easter egg in blue, watermelon, 4 leaf clover, several of
the big flowers, daisy, penguin and pink paw prints. send help.

Pantless Wonder

Jon's car is on the fritz and we've been trying to make it on one car until we can afford a big car repair bill. He had to work late last night so when it was time to get him I just hopped in my car and went. Without shoes, but more importantly, without pants. I had on my night shirt so it isn't like I was naked. He got in the car and we were making our way home when there it was- a DWI check point. Thank goodness the police officer didn't notice I was pantless. Can you imagine if I had to walk the line?
Today I go to get de-moled. My mom's going with to document. She's so excited. My family has issues. Will update after mole-ectomy.

Little Miss Clepto

Last week I won free passes to an advance screening of Little Miss Sunshine. I took my mom with me to see it since she's a big fan of Greg Kinnear. We stood in the long line then grabbed our seats. Then I went out to the counter for beverages. When I got back to the seats my mom asked where was the popcorn? I didn't get any cause I thought we'd go out after the movie. A few minutes later this guy sat down 2 seats over from my mom with a ginormous bucket of popcorn. My mom asked him where were his friends that were going to help him eat all that? He laughed and we all waited for the movie to start. At one point he left the theatre. Big mistake. My mom (who'd been drooling over the thought of popcorn), jumped into action. "Make a basket with your shirt! Or your napkin! Hurry!" she yelled/whispered at me while scooping out this poor man's popcorn! I'm sure the people around us thought we were insane. Plus, I pointed out to my mom that wouldn't the guy notice us crunching on popcorn we didn't have prior to his potty break?? We spent the next few minutes trying to sneak our popcorn into our mouths and chew silently while the rightful movie snack owner sat mere inches away. Oy the pressure of improperly procured popcorn.
The movie was fabulous. An instant favorite. I laughed so hard it hurt. And so did the rest of the crowd. I've already got it in my Netflix queue. Go see it. But bring your own snacks.

Tagged & BPOH Week 4 Theme Reveal

I've been tagged by Oscar. Here are the rules:

List 5 weird things about yourself or your pets. Tag 5 friends and list them. Then, those people need to write on their blogs about 5 weird things, and state the rules, and tag 5 more people. Don’t forget to let the people you tag know by posting a comment on their blog!
***We have a house full of pets and you guys probably know the older ones pretty well by now, so I've chosen to focus this quizzy thing on Miss Molly.

1) Molly loves loves loves water. She loves playing in it and tries to bite it if it is coming out of a hose, sprinkler or faucet.
2) Like Oscar, our pugs have disctinct smells. Ike's always smelled like Fritos. Kea smells like summer (mix of the beach & pool), and Molly smells like pecans.
3) Molly cuddles with our cat DaBrie. They groom each other and share kisses.
4) Molly grabs the hems of my pants and skirts with her teeth and will follow me around the house like this for a while. Coming down the stairs in a skirt with Molly holding my hem makes me feel all bridal.
5) Molly squeals like a stuck pig when we come home, even if we've only been gone 15 minutes. Guess her attention span isn't all that long!

I’m tagging:
Anyone who'd like to play. I've seen this game all around BloggyLand so I don't wanna make anyone do it all over again. If you play though, please let me know via comments so I can come check out your answers.

BPOH- Week 4 Theme: kitchens . If you'd like to join the parade please take some pictures of your kitchen and post them on your blog on Friday. Then come here and let me know via comments that your entry is up. Let us know what your favorite part of your kitchen is, besides doing the dishes! Heh.
So, I just found out that another blogger hosted a tour of homes last month. Our tour is small potatoes compared to theirs, but we've spread ours out over a few weeks and I like that better I think. They did theirs all in one shot. Some gorgeous homes, go check em out. I like touring weekly each room cause it gives us a more intimate look at things. Boo Mama did a great job with her tour though! Great minds think alike, what can I say?! ;) One of her readers had a good idea that I think we should hijack. That is to do a Holiday BPOH. What do y'all think?

Baby, Blog & Barf Milestones

Today is special for 2 reasons: Olivia has been home 6 months and I've been blogging for 5 years.

Last night I attended a fun fun cookout over at Susan, Will, & Olivia's house to celebrate their first 6 months as a family. We had a great time and Miss O showed me all kinds of lovin. Here she is wanting "Up pease" again. When I walked in she held her arms right up for me to pick her up. When I did she gave me a big hug and patted me on the back. So sweet! We had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed meeting new people and seeing familiar faces. I met Lee and his mom. Lee was adopted from China and has been home since April. His mom's done an amazing job teaching Lee sign language. He signs when he needs a diaper change! At one point he came over and signed that he needed help with a toy. What a great way to avoid tantrums and increase communication! I've been wanting to teach Ling Ling sign language when she comes home (and re-learn myself- I took a few classes in college) but after seeing it in action with Lee & Olivia I'm totally convinced!

Today marks 5 years of blogging! I started over here (which doesn't show up online anymore for some reason, but at least my old posts are still in Blogger's database) as an easy way to journal married life. I moved here (same thing, not showing up) for a while, then came here where we are today. My "journal" is certainly more than just married life talk now. This blog has been therapy through 5 years of marriage, infertility, multiple surgeries, home purchases and sales, and a whole lot of good times. Here's to the next 5 years, which will include Ling Ling coming home, big changes for us as a family, and one last (hopefully) blog move. I plan to go password protected at some point to protect LL's privacy (and mine & CSP's too). I know that's a little nutty of an idea when it comes to putting your life in print on the internet, but hey, you take what you can get right?

Now we get to the barf portion of our program. I was at my Mom's house yesterday lounging on the sofa. Molly was tearing around at Mach 3. She stopped and gulped down way too much water then hopped up on me and promptly puked all over me. It got all in my hair, ear, and all down my shirt. Bleh. I was running upstairs when my mom insisted on taking a photo. She said "You can blog about this!". I wasn't convinced a photo of pug puke would be something you'd like to view, so the photo remains in my personal collection. Lucky me!

Croc jewelry! & Dining Room Before Pictures!

Croc jewelry!

I thought you guys might be interested to see "Before" pictures of my dining room. Click to enlarge. I took these when we walked through the house for the first time so all the furniture you see belongs to the previous owners. And here is a close up of the faux paint that was in the dining room.

Now, on to my house. (click to enlarge pictures)
My dining room is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Based on looks alone it is my favorite. When we moved into this house the dining room was painted a metallic gold faux paint. It took almost 2 gallons of paint- after primer- to cover it. I wish I could remember the name of the paint color, it's sort of eggplanty but shows up kind of red to purple in photos depending on the light. I love the way it contrasts with the crisp white trim. Since the wall color is so bold I kept everything else in the room a neutral color- mainly black, white, or silver. The dining room table & chairs were our first major furniture purchase (bought from a local store). I love the table color and the fact that the leaf is stored in the table and pops out when you pull on each end of the table. Easy peasy! We were so sticker shocked when we bought it. When I saw the price tag for the chair I thought it was for the whole set, not each! Lucky for us the store had the wrong price tag on the table and we got it for $400 less than we should have! Woohoo! The sideboard and literally everything on the walls, including the curtains & curtain rods came from IKEA.
The view from the formal living room:
Right side of room: Not sure if you've noticed but in each room there is something that represents the Eiffel Tower. We honeymooned in Vegas and stayed at the Paris Las Vegas. So that monument makes me think of our honeymoon.
Left side of room: Those sconces used to have a little glass insert. I broke one and since they came from IKEA (only $9.99 each) and IKEA is in Atlanta I had to improvise. I took a piece of tape and taped up the holes to balance the candles.

View from back of dining room toward front of house: We replaced the brass chandelier with this silver and white one. The tall prints on either side of the columns are actually note cards from IKEA that I framed. Total cost of both pieces: less than $20. I love the one on the right-it's all silverware.
Details:
- I wanted something to add some pizazz to my stark, white drapes, but not add color. So I hung these Christmas ornaments on the ties and they do the trick!
- This is our stocked wine rack. We don't drink wine. But we received this wine rack as a wedding present and the wine as various gifts. I love the wine rack and it just doesn't look right empty. So we have wine. Oh, and the sparkly thing is a beaded garland.
- These are art tiles from IKEA. I had this wall to decorate but no art budget. I found these tiles for $2.50 each. My mom and I played with them til we found a layout we liked and voila! (sp) Wall art for $10! I like the bit of lime green in there. Ties in with the kitchen (which you'll see next week).

I can't wait until my girls get home and we can have big family dinners in our dining room. In the meantime I get to check out your dining rooms!

Tomorrow is BPOH Dining Room day!

Oh, and I switched to Bloglines from Blogrolling. So if you notice your blog is no longer on my sidebar, no worries, I still love you, I just can't get a RSS feed from your blog. I've kept my Blogroll active at Blogrolling so I'll still be visiting!

Mole Karma

I suppose calling my old boyfriend Mole Neck conjured up the mole spirits and sent some karma my way. My doctor has decided that the mole on my cheek must be removed. It has developed a white ring around it that my Dr. doesn't like. I go in next week. I don't know if they scrape it or freeze it or what. I just hope I'm not left with a big gaping hole in my face. Although I guess it would be fun at parties. I could drink through a straw through my cheek! My mom is all excited and plans on coming with me to document. You know how we like to document bump removals around here.

BPOH Week 3 Theme & You know you're old when...

~This week's theme for the Bloggy Parade of Homes is Dining Rooms. Be sure to post your photos on your blog on Friday and leave a comment on my blog Friday so we'll know you're up!

~I received one of those "You know you're old when...."emails and one of the bullet points was "When your parents start talking to you about sex like you're a friend." Or something like that. That has happened to me and now I need to gouge out my ears. I don't wanna know that my Dad knows my stepmom is in the mood when she lights a candle. Shudder. And I sure didn't need to hear about Hot as Hale's little boxer shorts dance he did after turning on the radio and lighting candles. And I really didn't need to hear about him rubbing his hands together in anticipation when my Mom walked in the room. Gah.

Game night & the origin of CSP

Saturday night my sister hosted a birthday dinner/game night for me. We never got around to playing many games, but we sure did have some fun. Sara drew this Crocs picture in honor of the occasion in her chalkboard frames. Click on her name to see her BPOH photos. Susan, Will, Miss Olivia, and Susan's friend Amy joined us. Mama & Papa were also there. Joey and Miss O were able to spend some more time together convincing me that they will fall in love, or at least go to prom. CSP, the pugs, and I spent the night with Sara & her boys and the next day I got a real glimpse into life with 2 toddlers. The day started with Joey trying to flush my clothes down the toilet (had to bring those home in a plastic bag). I was exhausted by the time we went home, but loved every minute of my day with my sweet nephews. Sara snapped the cutest picture of Molly while we were there:

By the way, we call Jon Captain Safety Pants (CSP) because he's almost freakishly concerned for my safety. He wouldn't let me get a sunroof for fear burglars would bust in my car. Never mind the fact it is surrounded by windows, they will apparently climb on the roof. I stepped on a nail yesterday (they are still doing construction in Sara's neighborhood and we were checking out the homes as they were being built) and CSP repeatedly examined my foot for a puncture wound. Luckily my Crocs have such a thick, cushy sole they saved my life! If it were up to CSP I'd be wrapped in bubble wrap and wouldn't be allowed to leave his sight.

The end of the line for Mole Neck

CSP: "I need a haircut."
Me: "I don't know why you don't let me cut your hair." - note- I have no hair cutting training whatsoever but I have loads of confidence in my abilities as I've watched other people cut hair for years so how hard could it be?
CSP: "Cause I don't want to look any more stupid than I already do."
Me: "Then why don't you let my mom cut it?" -note- my mom is actually a trained hairstylist, although retired.
CSP: "Cause I don't want her taking out her revenge on me for my past transgressions."

So I had to tell my mom about this exchange and while talking to my her yesterday and the subject of one of my old boyfriends came up. Mole Neck Lenny. And then I realized, quite a few of them had not so attractive nicknames. Let's see, there was Demon Damon, Snaggle Tooth Todd, Sick & Tired Matt, Bowl Head Todd, No Chin Steve, Tom Russell the Love Muscle, Far Side Kid Chris and of course, Mole Neck Lenny. My mom wanted soooo badly to snip off the mole on Mole Neck Lenny's Neck every time she'd cut his hair. But she held back. She said it looked like "A giant tick looking at me every time I'd cut his hair." Lucky for him I broke up with him before she lost her willpower and sliced that thing right off. He only lasted as long as he did cause he had a computer and I didn't and I had papers to write in college. One day while I was using his computer he came in and wanted a kiss right after chowing down on some peanut butter. The breath on him about killed me. I thought "Just as soon as I'm done writing this paper we're through." And we were. Hey, I was young and boys were a dime a dozen back then so I could afford to be a little superficial. Don't judge. I know a girl who broke up with a guy once for wearing white pants to a party, so in comparison this is deep stuff!

Snaggle Tooth Todd met his end after a double date. I never let him tongue kiss me cause I was afraid of that snaggle tooth. Poor guy. He was super nice and we dated for a couple of months. It was my senior year of high school and we'd eaten at Olive G@rden then gone to see Hamlet. Apparently STT's dinner wasn't sitting right as he proceeded to have silent but deadly burps throughout the movie. They were so stinky I couldn't wait to get out of there. As soon as we pulled up in my driveway I broke up with him.

Demon Damon and I dated on and off from the time I was 12 (not real dates til we were like 16) til I was 25. In fact, he was my last boyfriend before CSP came into the picture. DD was named that cause that boy was ballsy. Once I was coming home from a date and we pulled up to the house and there was DD waiting on me. He told my date to get lost. Ballsy!

Bowl Head Todd was a bag boy and I was a cashier in 12th grade. He was a little shorter than me and I just couldn't handle it. My posture was suffering.

Sick & Tired Matt and I dated from age 18-22. He was my first true love. But he was always sick and tired. Might have had something to do with the copious amounts of weed he smoked. I broke up with him when I realized if I married him there would probably always be a place in our budget for ganja (sp) and I wasn't down with that.

No Chin Steve came along some time after S&TM. We dated about a year. He was super skinny and smoked and drove a Camaro. So the no chin thing was the least of his worries. We broke up when I realized we were really just friends who had a little too much to drink one night and thought it might be a good idea to date. We remain friends and I run into him periodically.

Tom Russell the Love Muscle (not his real first name) and I met at work. I interviewed him for a job and he told me I had great hair. I hired him, paid him top of scale, and we'd make out in my office. A lot. Man was he a cutie. He had some sort of magical hold over me. Literally made my knees weak. Sigh. I was older than him though and he was still in college so the party lifestyle interfered with a relationship. So it was a casual, fun thing that is now a fond memory. That boy had moves.

Far Side Kid Chris and I met because we worked for the same company. I was an HR manager and he was my home office contact in the North East. We ended up chatting longer than we should and emailing then visiting and the next thing you know he moved here to be with me. We dated about a year, a little longer, but he wasn't all that nice to me sometimes and would say mean things. So I broke it off with him. Then he repeatedly asked me to marry him, a couple of times at a company conference in front of a hundred or so people. That didn't end well. Oh, and he was named Far Side Kid cause he wore hit baseball caps all jacked up in front and was shorter than me (although he swore he was 5'9"-my ass, I'm only 5'7") and someone once commented he looked like the Far Side Kid who was pushing the door marked pull.

So that's my laundry list of nicknamed boyfriends. There were some regular ones thrown in here and there who got out without a nickname. Of course now I thankfully have CSP (Captain Safety Pants-Jon). But he's not going anywhere!

Anyone out there ever nickname their boys? Any bizarre reasons for breakups?

The Painted House

A couple of you mentioned the colors of our walls. I'm a budget decorator, but I have expensive taste. I fell in love with the paint at Restoration Hardware. Then I fell in love with lots of their colors. But I couldn't stomach paying $32 for a gallon of paint. So I took the paint chips to Lowes and they matched them for me. $17 a gallon was so much better! And now we have high end colors at cheapie prices in 5 of our rooms!

Now, on to my house: Click on all pics to enlarge.
This is the formal living room as seen from the foyer: We don't spend any time in there really, it is just a place to hold our bookcase for right now! Here's the view from the dining room:

Here is the family room where we spend most of our time: This is the view from the kitchen:
This is the view from the entry hall:
This is the "window" that leads to the upstairs bonus room.
This is the view from the Juliet balcony just outside the bonus room upstairs.

My favorite things about this room are the tapestry above the fireplace, and how open the room is to the kitchen. When we have people over you never feel like you're missing something if you run into the kitchen. I can cook and talk to CSP while he watches the game or the weather channel. Plus I like being able to drop things down from upstairs like laundry (although CSP isn't a big fan of inter-floor object tossage).
I can't wait to see everyone's rooms this week!

Unzipped

Yesterday we took the girls to the vet. Molly had to get her zipper (staples) taken out from her spay, and Kea needed a nail trim. While there we met a Mastiff named Tia who was just 1 year old and already 110 lbs. She was huge! Pugs are related to Mastiffs and it was so neat to see a MUCH larger version of our dog. They had so many of the same characteristics. Kea and Tia even had matching moles on their cheeks. Molly's incision healed really well, she just has these bumps now where the staples were. They'll go down though. CSP said it looks like she's got an extra dozen nipples now. I tell ya, that spay didn't slow my girl down one bit!

Why don't you...

~Check out the Super Summer Sale at Bellatini!. Hurry- only 12 Summer designs remain. Leave a comment if you'd like to be on my mailing list for advance notice of sales and new items. I'm clearing out the inventory to make room for fabulous new Fall designs! Order 3 or more items for a shipping discount and bonus gift!

~Help me to abolish the saying "What happens in ______, stays in ________." I'm so sick of that. Cause y'all, people are gonna find out. And if you wear a tshirt that has that saying on it, they're really gonna find out what you did.

~Go watch Fl@vor of Love 2. Try and catch the rerun of the season premiere. People- one girl pooped on the floor and talked about it like it was normal. On national tv. I still don't know what to say about that. And here I thought I'd seen it all on VH1! Holy canoli! Poop! On the floor! Then showed her face! And was like "It could happen to anyone." Yikes!

Bloggy Parade of Homes- Week 2

This week's theme is living rooms. So take and post pics on Friday of your living rooms, dens, family rooms, etc. We have a formal living room and a family room and I just don't get the formal rooms. My mom keeps telling me one day we'll use it and appreciate having the formal living room, so I guess we're waiting on that day to come!
Remember to post what state you live in and your favorite part of your living room. Also, be sure to leave a comment so we'll know you've posted. This week I'll create links in the body of my email of those who post. I'm assuming if you're participating this week too that you're in this for the long haul.
Don't forget everyone's invited so join in! You're not too late. Just post pics on Friday of both the living rooms and entry/foyer.
I'm so pleased with the participation so far. I LOVE seeing everyone's houses. I really think our homes can reflect our personalities, and I'm just nosey really, so I'm eagerly awaiting each Friday!

Good thing this kid is cute

So my littlest nephew Joey has been causing some havoc over at his house. My sister was looking up a recipe the other day while my BIL was outside working. Marc came in the house and heard a waterfall. He yelled upstairs so Sara went running and found my nephews standing on either side of the toilet in their master bath. They had flushed every washcloth and towel in the bathroom. Water was flowing through the light fixture and vent in the downstairs laundry room! Apparently Joey is addicted to flushing and tries to flush everything from toys to clothing. And Jake is newly potty trained so they can't keep potty locks on the toilets. I tell ya, good thing he's so sweet and cute or Joey would be in a heap of trouble!
